As you probably know by now, Brett Favre has declared his retirement, then changed his mind and decided he wants to return. The Packers realize that if Favre was feeling so sore that he wanted to retire he’s probably too old. Also he hasn’t won a Super Bowl in awhile and based on those factors they don’t want Favre back. They’ve even gone as far as offering him a contract to stay retired. They are acting strange though. If they think Favre is really too old why don’t they want him playing for rival team the Vikings. Obviously they must not be sure how Favre will play but they don’t want to be stuck with him if he’s not playing well but if he does play well they don’t want him playing against him. Other teams agree with the Packers organization. Even if they don’t say it they show it by the fact that they are only offering the Packers 4th round picks for him. They must also think he will not play well and don’t want to be stuck with him. Favre has recently stated that the contract he was offered to stay retired “although awkward and unsettling to most, may be the best option in the end.”

It’s now down to Democrat Barrack Obama versus Republican John McCain. McCain has had the Republican spot secured for a while but Obama just recently beat Hilary Clinton. In my opinion, this will be a close race. As always feel free to leave your opinions.

Some experts believe that with the rising gas cost airlines will have to start charging more for tickets or if they can’t afford gas they would run out of it and go out of business. Some people say that eventually airplanes will be packed with people paying as much as $1000 dollars a ticket flying only to major cities such as New York to Los Angelos. Do you think this will be the fate of airplanes or will there be an alternative for fuel? If so what will it be? Please, as always, feel free to comment.

Some people think that ethanol could be a solution to rising gas prices but in truth it takes a lot of energy, possibly gas energy, to make and ship ethanol. you need to till fields to grow corn, most farmers use machines, and turning that corn into ethanol takes energy, and ethanol degrades so it can’t be shipped through pipelines. That means that trucks, which need energy, need to transport the ethanol to the pumps. So if you agree or disagree that ethanol is a solution, please comment.

There was recently a poll saying that 81% of Americans think that the country is heading in the wrong direction. The main reason they say this is because of the recession it looks like we heading towards. I think another reason may be the cost of oil and gasoline is so high. do you agree that the country is headed in the wrong direction? Why or why not?

If you are looking at this site and not sure what the point of all this is then you should read this.
This site let’s people express there opinions on different topics that are recent or currently happening. For example if there is a story on the 2008 election that I write about either on the home page or on the politics page, feel free to comment on that story. If there is a story on something that is not on a specific page or on the home page you may talk about stuff on the miscellaneous page.
What are the differences between the home page and a specific page?
The home page has the most current news from only a week or two ago and it has stories on everything. A specific page has stories on a specific topic and they can be up to month old.
Hope you like the site; and feel free to comment on anything.
